6 Factors for Purchasing the Right Spy Camera
Wireless spy cameras let you easily see whatever you want to see and finally at an affordable price!
You can now get the evidence you want with sophisticated, super small spy cameras. From cheating spouse to the nanny and children, a spy cam can see it all.
How It Works
The camera captures what is in the field of view and transmits the video footage over radio frequencies. The video is then picked up by a receiver that can be hooked up to a TV for viewing, or to a VCR for recording.
What To Look For
1- Color or black and white -- Color models are better at distinguishing different items in the field of view and are also a bit more expensive. Black and white models usually produce slightly higher resolution images and are a bit cheaper than their color counterparts.
2- Sensibility to low light -- Measured in LUX. The lower the number the better the camera sees in low light conditions. For a decent ability to see in low light, opt for a unit with a lux of 0.05 . For pitch dark situations opt for a lux of 0.03 .
3- Image quality -- Measured in lines of resolution. The higher the number, the better the image quality. 380 lines of resolution is usually good enough even for private investigators.
4- Is the receiver included? -- If the receiver is not included, ask how much one would cost and do the math and see if it fits your budget.
5- Transmission frequency used -- This is the frequency the spy camera uses to transmit the video feed to the receiver. You have the choice of 434mhz, 900mhz, 1.2ghz and 2.4ghz.
Because of interference, you should stay away from 434mhz and 900mhz models.
1.2ghz and 2.4ghz are the better options.
6- Transmission range -- Measured in "line of sight", it is a measure of the maximum distance the spy cam can stand away from the receiver and still receive the signal with no obstruction and interference between the two. The range is usually between 300 feet and 2000 feet depending on the model.
WARNING:This figure can be misleading. Interference and obstruction are things you will probably be dealing with to some degree, so never accept the transmission range advertised as the real world effective range.Ask the store for a more realistic figure.
IN CONCLUSION
You now have the necessary knowledge to buy quality wireless spy cameras on your own so please keep in mind these critical points before making any buying decision.
It will make the difference between getting the evidence you want and having a useless toy that is no fun to play with!

Ceramic Disc Capacitor-How to accurately test it
The last article i mentioned about electrolytic capacitor breakdown
when under load. In this article i will talk about the high voltage
resin coated ceramic disc capacitor. In computer monitor, it is
frequent used in the screen voltage (G2) line at the crt board. When
it fail, it can cause erratic
or intermittently raster bright and dim and sometimes no display.
Adjusting the flyback transformer screen control will not solve this
problem. You can isolate the problem as whether if it cause by a
defective fly back or G2 line at crt board. Remove the G2 wire from
circuit and measure the screen voltage with a digital multimeter- it
should have a constant voltage (will not vary). If
the voltage is not stable suspect the fly back. If it ok then trace
the screen voltage circuit. Usually this circuit consist of only
resistors and capacitors. Sometimes a defective crt socket might cause this type of problem also!
Many times a tech can't solve this intermittent or no display problem
is because their digital capacitance and ohmmeter measured ok on the
capacitors. The capacitors in the screen voltage line are usually
rated of 102,103, and 472 1kv to 2kv. A 'missed' in checking this
capacitors will caused the technician can't solve the problem, unless
he direct replace the capacitor. An intermittent capacitor can pull
down the screen voltage causing the display problem.
As mentioned earlier, an ohmmeter with 12v output and a digital capacitance with 3v output are unable to accurately check the
capacitor that have the rating of 1-2 kilovolt!
If you have the analog insulation tester or meter, the panel will
show a short circuit when certain voltage are pump
in to check the high voltage capacitor. The voltages that you can
select is depends on the brand or model you buy. Some have the range
of 50v to 1000v and some have the range from 100v to 500v. It is
optional whether you should have one. If you have one then it would
be an added advantage for you. The other option that you have is to
direct replace the suspected capacitor. In my country, you can get a
new one in less than US150.00 or you may bid a used unit from eBay.
As for me, checking the small blue resin coated ceramic disc capacitor that have the capacitor code of 104 50v, besides using digital
capacitance
meter to check for the value, i also use an analog meter set to times
10Kohm that have the output of 12v to check this type of capacitor.
Many times it will revealed the bad intermittent capacitor. You will
be shocked to see the capacitance meter checked ok but show a shorted
reading when check with analog multimeter.
In the market there is certain brand of analog multimeter that have
the range of 100kohm. If you open up the cover, you can't see the 9v
battery in it, what you see only the 2 pieces of 1.5v
battery. This type of meter can't accurately detect the short in the
capacitor because the output voltage is only 3volt!
For those of you who involved in repairing monitor, you will agree
with me that checking the flyback internal capacitance- quite often
you get the right value 2.7nf with digital capacitance meter but when
you switch on the monitor, you will hear a 'tick-tick' sound from the
flyback. This is because the capacitor is breaking down when under
load. If you did not
do anything with the flyback, gradually the internal capacitance will
become shorted and you will need to refurbish the flyback.

Future Internet: Collaboration without loss of individuality: Example 1: Ebay
Throughout human history there has always been a conflict of ideas when it comes to group-based vs. individual-based societies. Of course there are pros and cons with both constructs, but I believe (and I am definitely not the only one) that we are entering a new age where the power of the group and originality of thought generated from individuals are finally returning to a balanced state which is being harnessed to further our evolution. The Internet, a new medium for human interaction, is bringing people all over the world together to form communities, as well as giving the normally unheard person a voice that is able to be heard by waiting audiences. A shift of focus is occurring that is causing the whole of society to change the way that it functions. Collaboration of different-thinking minds has meant a beginning of the end for the old 'master and slave', 'command and control' paradigms. Individual thought used to fuel a collective society that is working together in a true democratic sense: this is the beginning of a New Renaissance.
Enter the realm of the Internet: Is it some technological tool that only super-intelligent people can utilize? Or, could it simply be the next natural step in millions of years of life's evolution on our planet, a medium where people communicate and share knowledge and information? Have you heard of www.ebay.com/ (on-line shopping), www.skype.com/ (free voice-over Internet), www.amazon.com/ (on-line books), www.linkedin.com (employment hiring), www.guru.com (freelance work), www.yahoo.com (Yahoo Inc) and www.apple.com/itunes/ (on-line music), www.wikipedia.org/ (on-line encyclopaedia) , www.marketocracy.com/ (on-line trading) , secondlife.com/ (creating digital content/games) , www.bittorrent.com/ (File Sharing), www.imdb.com/ (film database)? These are just a few of the kinds of concepts that are being created to help make life better for people, by the people.
How about web logs (on-line journals/media), open-source programming, Google's rating of links, customer production teams, prediction markets, cooperative media, collective brains trusts, linking sites, rating songs, rating buyers and sellers, rating books and films? These mediums and processes are giving average, anonymous Homo sapiens the power to make a difference in the ways in which the world works. We are starting to create instead of consume. We're encouraging brilliant ideas by the masses, not just those in elite positions. Groups of independent individuals are uniting and gaining control of situations that were once ruled by a small handful of a few company's top executives.
In the next several articles I am going to focus on these new aspects of the Internet and how they are empowering the souls of humankind. As an example there is the story of Ebay: www.ebay.com/. This website is a place where anyone can buy or sell just about everything imaginable. This is a whole new concept when it comes to the marketplace. You can buy or sell anything, new or used, including some things that are normally very hard to find.
Often buying off individuals or specialised Ebay distributors means that you get the exact product before an out-of-stock store that would have had to order it in for you. When you buy something outright or take part in an auction, there's a great chance that you'll get it cheaper than at a retail store as well. This is especially the case on specialised items that have to be imported and shipped internationally.
Buying what you want from another person like yourself is quite different from standing in line at a huge impersonal department store that treats you like a number, or worse, a wallet. It hearkens back to the simple days of trading before money existed. The buyer and seller give feedback on each other that future participants can take into consideration when making a trade. If someone has too many negative comments next to their name, they are banned from trading on Ebay for life. Of course there are insurance options but the ideals of trust and honour are what makes this a great sign of the true essence of humanity. There will always be techno-criminals that can beat new security technologies, but the group of approximately 157 million Ebay members have been likened to a giant 'neighbourhood watch', informing each other of any suspicious activity.
This process of self-policing collaboration is a simple human process, which has changed the face of buying/selling relationships. The majority of people have been upfront and earned points for their integrity. Less than one hundredth of all transactions are cases of fraud; the founder Pierre Omidyar believes that only thirty out of every million sellers don't fulfil their duties. Ebay is now a multi-billion dollar company; it grew from one person's basic concept that the rest of us saw the power in.
